St Helena Hospice is seeking an eCommerce General Assistant, to work in the eCommerce team on a fixed term contract to cover Maternity leave.
The role is for a 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

The key priorities of an eCommerce General Assistant are:
- To source items from donated goods and proactively promote and sell these items online to help meet the retail sales and online income targets and to ensure the best income is achieved for donated items.
- Operate within the guidelines of the St Helena finance team and ensure good financial practice is maintained.
- Provide an efficient service to donors, volunteers, supporters and the retail team of St Helena.
Responsibilities:
- Place items for sale on relevant online market websites in compliance with eBay, Etsy, St Helena and any other online selling platform policies and procedures, in order to maximise income by providing an effective description of products as well as good quality photographs to enhance the sales potential.
- Monitor the auctions and process sale items to buyers. Ensure excellent customer service is provided online, customer queries are responded to promptly and ensure customer feedback is encouraged to increase the profile of St Helena.
- Packaging the items that sell to ensure safe delivery of items to the customers.
Skills:
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal and social skills
- Time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
- Advanced keyboard skills to ensure accuracy of data input
- Desirable - knowledge of brands with a high value

Processing fees
CloseWhen you make a donation to St Helena Hospice, we are charged transactional fees by other companies, including fees for processing payments made to us, looking up addresses and validating bank account details.
We are very grateful to our donors who offer to offset some of these fees with a minor addition to their total amount. This is however completely optional and we are very grateful for your support whether or not you choose to contribute to processing fees.
