THE LANDSCAPE INSTITUTE
South West
Full-time

Overview

The Opportunity?

We’re looking for a well-rounded, talented, enthusiastic, and highly organised Landscape Architect with a particular focus in landscape planning to join our growing Landscape Team in either our Cheltenham, Cirencester or Cardiff office.

Who are EDP?

We’re The Environmental Dimension Partnership Ltd but most people know us as EDP. We’re a highly regarded environmental planning and design consultancy with a reputation for delivering a high-quality service for our clients.

We’re proud of our welcoming culture (The EDP Way), which promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace where every member of the team contributes, and we all individually have a role to play.

Whatever we do – whether we’re focusing on development or the environment ¬– we make it our business to create positive change, for our people, our clients and the places we help to shape. For example, as well as seeking to make a difference at a project level, we offset the personal carbon footprint of everyone within the team.

The Role

You will be working across a range of project sizes, types and complexities including new settlements, renewable energy projects and world class leisure facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop professional skills and technical ability, working closely with our existing team of experienced and respected Landscape Architects and the wider EDP Team. This post will offer the successful candidate a wealth of experience encompassing not only landscape, but also aspects of ecology, heritage, masterplanning and arboriculture.

You will share our desire to create environmentally responsive and exceptional places; and be at the leading edge of professional best practice.

We’re an equal opportunities employer, so we’re delighted to offer family friendly and flexible working arrangements which can include a mix of office and home working.

Your Skills

Of course, we’ll need you to have all the right qualifications and experience – excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. But to enjoy your time at EDP, you’ll also need to be personable, passionate, and proactive. You will:

• Be a confident professional with drive and ambition;

• Have an interest in multi-disciplinary planning and strategic design;

• Have excellent written communication skills with an eye for detail;

• Be confident with graphical communication, as well as the standard Microsoft packages. It would be advantageous (though not essential) for you also to have experience of working with GIS software.

• Be a client focussed team player who is decisive in nature and takes great pride in their project work; and

• Have excellent interpersonal communication skills which are essential.

Learning and Development

We’ll always invest in our people and have excellent learning and development opportunities for all our Team Members. This includes an extensive internal training programme to expand knowledge of our multi-disciplinary projects and roles within these. So, you can be confident you’ll grow and develop both personally and professionally when you join us.

EDP Benefits

We offer a very competitive benefits package, which includes support for candidates on the Landscape Institutes Pathway to Chartership or Experienced Route to Technician and other training needs.

30 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays and birthday holiday);
Hybrid and flexible working;
TOIL system;
Profit share bonus scheme;
