Sales Assistant – Bank

St Wilfrid’s Hospice is an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester. We provide a wide range of care services to support patients with life-limiting or terminal illnesses, along with their loved ones. At any one time, we support over 330 patients across our Inpatient Unit and Community teams—making a genuine difference to local lives.

Being a Bank Sales Assistant at St Wilfrid’s

We are looking for a flexible, motivated individual to join our friendly Retail Team on a Bank (casual hours) contract, providing cover across our 12 community shops. This is a varied and rewarding role contributing directly to the income that enables our hospice care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as an ambassador for St Wilfrid’s Hospice by providing a warm welcome and excellent customer service to all visitors and supporters.
  • Receiving donations and ensuring they are processed in line with our procedures.
  • Accurately operating the till and EPOS system, including cash handling, daily security records and Gift Aid registration.
  • Assisting with the sorting, pricing and merchandising of donated goods to maximise income and minimise waste.
  • Supporting colleagues and volunteers, contributing positively to a collaborative shop environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic IT skills and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Product merchandising experience is desirable.
  • Ability to complete customer paperwork accurately.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Availability for occasional weekend and Bank Holiday shifts.
  • Full shifts will be required on scheduled working days.
