The King’s Foundation is made up of three schools:
King’s Senior School and two preparatory schools,
King’s St Alban’s and King’s Hawford. Together,
they form a vibrant and nurturing educational

King’s Senior School educates approximately
850 pupils aged 11–18 on our stunning city-centre
campus. Sharing this site is King’s St Alban’s,
a thriving prep school for around 150 pupils
aged 2–11. Just north of the city, in the beautiful
Worcestershire countryside, King’s Hawford
provides a dynamic learning environment for
approximately 260 pupils aged 2–11. All three schools
are united under a single governing body, ensuring
a cohesive vision and shared values across the
Foundation.

Job Description

The Admissions Administrator is an important
member of our Admissions team who are
responsible for the recruitment of pupils across the
Foundation.

Duties and responsibilities

•  Plan, organise and book private visits to the

Senior School.

This role will be based at our Senior School; the
successful applicant will work closely with our
Registrar, supporting the team by providing an
exceptional administrative and customer-focussed
service.

We are seeking a highly organised, personable, and
proactive individual. This role offers an exciting
opportunity to be the first point of contact for
prospective families, supporting the Registrar
to guide them through the admissions process
with warmth, efficiency, and professionalism.
The successful candidate will play a key role in
ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience
for all applicants, while supporting in delivering a
seamless and effective admissions journey for every
applicant family.

This is a fixed term maternity cover role, anticipated
to commence at the end of January 2026, 30 hours
per week to be worked across a minimum of 4 days,
year-round.

Salary An annual salary of up to £22,495
depending on experience (based on working 30
hours per week, year-round).

Follow up on visits with appropriate methods of
communication, under the supervision of the
Registrar.

•  Support in responding to admissions queries
from prospective parents and colleagues,
including maintaining our admissions database
for each enquiry.

•  Ensure each applicant’s record accurately

reflects all aspects of the admissions process,
including the application itself, external
references, and all communications.

•  Produce offer letters and maintain accurate

records of acceptances, rejections and waiting
lists.

•  Assist with the running of admissions events,

taster days and open events.

•  Be able to work on occasional Saturdays when
large events are planned, and be flexible with
working hours at busy times of the recruitment
cycle.

•

Follow all King’s School policies and procedures,
with particular regard to pupil well-being and
safeguarding.

It is expected that the Admissions Administrator will
demonstrate a range of qualities, skills and experience, as
outlined below.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

Previous experience in an administrative role

Proven ability to manage a busy workload, working to timescales and managing own
workload

Understanding of the need for accurate data management

Experience of working with databases

DESIRABLE

Previous experience of a direct customer facing role in the service sector, preferably
in a sales environment

Knowledge of working in an independent school

Previous experience of school admissions

A knowledge of safeguarding practices in an education setting is desirable, however

training will be provided

ESSENTIAL

First rate administration skills with meticulous attention to detail

Highly competent IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems

Smart appearance with a warm and engaging personality and the ability to create a
welcoming and lasting first impression

Excellent oral and written communication skills

A flexible approach to hours and duties, including working occasional weekends, bank
holidays and evening events

Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of integrity and diplomacy at all
