The Diocesan Board of Finance and the Bishop’s Council are seeking to nominate a new trustee to St Hilda’s Trust.

We are inviting expressions of interest from individuals with a background in the social service or care sector who would like to explore serving in this important governance role.

About St Hilda’s Trust (Charity number 500962)

The Trust supports charities and organisations who engage with groups including children, young people, vulnerable adults and families within the geographical boundaries of Newcastle Diocese. The Trust offers grants for charitable purposes and particular consideration is given to projects where there is church involvement or interest.

The Trust meets four times a year at Church House, North Shields— in March, June (AGM), September, and December—usually on a Tuesday afternoon. In addition, trustees make 2–3 visits annually to grant-funded projects, offering oversight and encouragement.

Further information about the Trust is available here: https://www.newcastle.anglican.org/st-hildas-trust

We welcome applications from people who:

  • Bring professional insight and experience from the social service or care sector.
  • Share an interest in supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
  • Are willing to contribute actively to the governance, decision-making, and outreach of the Trust.
