    About the Service

    Solace offers extensive violence against women and girls (VAWG) services in Islington; these include a range of advocacy and support options for survivors, group work and training for professionals and community members. We support survivors of all genders.

    Support for survivors in Islington is predominantly provided through Solace’s advocacy and support service (SASS) which supports survivors of domestic and sexual abuse of all genders and at all levels of risk.

    About the Role

    As the deputy service manager, you will be responsible for the advocacy work delivered as part of Solace’s SASS service. You will manage a large and busy staff team of IDVAs, caseworkers, shared management of core IDVAs and duty workers ensuring that these services are providing the best possible support to survivors, whilst also delivering on commissioner targets across a range of contracts.

    You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

    We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending VAWG and safeguarding. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer.

    Ideal candidates will have experience working with victim/survivors of VAWG and a solid understanding of the support options available to them. You will have strong leadership skills, thrive on working under pressure, and be adept at crisis management and prioritising your workload to meet the demands of this busy service.

    Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children, demonstrable substantial experience in providing emotional and practical support to victims of VAWG.
