St Catharine's College is looking to appoint an experienced HR Manager who will be responsible for leading our HR function and overseeing the work of our HR support assistant.
St Catharine's is committed to maintaining a strong HR function which excels in attracting and retaining the best employees and providing them with outstanding training and development opportunities. The HR Manager will take the lead in evolving and implementing a progressive HR service, under the guidance of the Operations Director, Bursar and the HR Committee. They will run the College’s day-to-day HR function, including;
- All employment related administration for academic and non-academic roles
- Acting as a business partner to managers and ensuring compliance with employment legislation
- Overseeing and implementing our recruitment and retention process
- Designing and implementing initiatives to keep the well-being of employees at the heart of our work
This role would suit an experienced and proactive HR generalist with an in-depth knowledge of employment law and strong employee relation skills.
The post holder will have excellent leadership skills, including a professional and courteous manner, tactfulness and diplomacy, a high degree of sensitivity and strong administrative skills. They must be self-reliant, resourceful and excel in problem solving when carrying out their role.

Employment arrangements
- This is a permanent appointment (subject to a six month probation period).
- Hours of work are 37.5 per week normally working Monday to Friday with core working hours of 10am - 4pm. The role holder is expected to be present in person on site for a minimum of 4 days a week.
- Competitive full time salary of £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
