Location: Together Trust Central Office, Schools Hill, CheadleHybrid working – covering services across the Northwest37.5 hours per week | Full time – Permanent roleSalary: £41,490 per annum 

Reports to: Head of Service, Children and Families

The Together Trust is one of the North West’s leading charities, offering individual care, support, and education to hundreds of children, young people, and adults each year. We are a not-for-profit charitable trust, so every penny goes back into benefiting the people we support.

The Children & Families Service supports children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, disabilities and complex needs in residential homes and a Fostering service across the Greater Manchester area.

We are looking for a Business Manager who will play a key role in the Management Team overseeing budgets reviews, forecasts, expenditure, due diligence of service delivery.  They will support the Head of Service, Principal Managers, Fostering Manager and Registered Managers to ensure services operate in an efficient and cost-effective way.  

This role is a new role to the service operation, and we are looking for a compassionate, collaborative, caring individual to drive change, engagement and excellence through their expertise to enhance, and empower our operational leads.

Responsibilities include but are not exhaustive;

  • Operational Finance - liaise with the finance business partner and functional leads to ensure processes are in place to track and report financial performance across all service activity
  • Contract Management - Work closely with service leads to ensure contracts are embedded effectively and managed to evidence efficient and quality service delivery
  • Resource Management - Liaise with internal Trust department including People and culture, Finance, Digital, Communications,. Business Development alongside service leads.
  • Service and Contract Development -liaising with and supporting Business Development, service leads and Head of Service to support the development of innovative and robust service models and proposals ensuring new tenders are won and funding secured
  • Provision of budget and planning support along with commentary and compliance working closely with all service leads.
  • Escalate anomalies and present findings to Senior Stakeholders, peers and Registered Managers.
  • Create and complete audits.
  • Experience in E-rostering or similar systems experience.
  • Understanding and management of staff turnover and absences.
  • Involvement with tenders and due diligence.

The ideal candidate.

  • Qualifications – a relevant degree or professional qualification in Business, Management or Finance to at least Level 4. - Essential
  • AAT or ACA Qualified. - Desirable
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Financial management costing and audit to include Budget/cost centre management/statutory accounting/cost models preferably within the Charity sector.
  • Enthusiastic and self-driven enjoying building relationships with all stakeholders.
  • A problem solver who enjoys finding solutions with a positive outlook.
