Do you have the patience, resilience and relationship-building skills to support young people who are struggling in education?

Norwich Youth for Christ is looking for a Boost Project Worker & Youth Worker to join our team.

About the Role

BOOST is our alternative education project, established nine years ago to support young people at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. Working alongside our BOOST Lead, you will help deliver engaging sessions, build positive relationships with students and encourage them to engage with learning and personal development opportunities.

You will have an understanding of the challenges faced by young people who are disengaged from education and be confident supporting those with behavioural, emotional or social needs.

Alongside your work with BOOST, there will be opportunities to contribute to other Norwich Youth for Christ projects, including schools work, youth work, outreach and church-based activities.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with young people, particularly those who are disengaged or vulnerable.
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience and strong pastoral skills.
  • Can build positive relationships and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understands the factors that can lead to exclusion from education.
  • Is enthusiastic about sharing the hope of Jesus with young people.

There is a genuine occupational requirement that the postholder is a practising Christian. An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful applicant.
