Contact details

Please contact  recruitment@ywt.org.uk for any enquiries.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Beaver Project Manager.

The Beaver Project Manager will support the establishment of a flourishing and sustainable population of wild Beavers in Yorkshire, enabling their coexistence with people while delivering wider benefits for biodiversity. This will involve close working with a range of partners and stakeholders, and the postholder will help to develop and deliver programmes for Beaver reintroductions across rivers in Yorkshire, including securing the necessary licences and implementing wild releases.

You will work closely with internal and external partners to research, analyse and identify the best candidate Yorkshire rivers for wild releases, develop project plans, engage with stakeholders and the community and develop license applications. You will then implement the project plans, source and release beavers into the wild and then undertake monitoring and management.

We’d love to hear from you if you have strong experience delivering large‑scale conservation or species projects, can manage complex and sometimes contentious stakeholder work, and consistently meet multiple objectives on time and within budget. You’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a full UK driving license. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to nature recovery in Yorkshire and join a committed, supportive team making a real difference for wildlife and people.
