We deliver integrated clinical and psychosocial substance misuse services across Surrey Prisons, working in close partnership with NHS healthcare providers. Our trauma-informed, gender-responsive approach ensures every service user gets the support they need on their recovery journey.

About the Role:

As a Health & Wellbeing Practitioner, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering recovery-orientated services to women aged 18+. Working on-site at HMP Downview, Sutton, your role will involve:

  • Managing a caseload with a person-centred approach
  • Conducting assessments and co-producing care plans
  • Delivering structured 1:1 sessions and facilitating group work
  • Providing harm reduction advice and support
  • Performing second signatory duties
  • Supporting release planning and community reintegration
  • Accurately recording data and outcomes to measure success

Requirements:

  • Experience or interest in working with individuals affected by substance misuse or low-level mental health needs
  • Strong commitment to trauma-informed and gender-responsive practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively across prison, healthcare, and mental health teams
  • Willingness to work weekends on a rota basis
  • Commitment to completing the Drug and Alcohol Workforce Development Programme (DAWFDP) within 12 months
