Job vacancy: Operations Coordinator

Full-time, permanent role, based at our Swindon office. 35 hours per week over 5 days.
We may be flexible on days / hours for the ideal candidate looking for a part time position.

UFM Worldwide exists to support churches in making disciples of all
nations. Our priorities are to take the gospel to the least reached and
to support under resourced churches around the world.

Since 1931 we’ve had the privilege of helping churches to identify, train, send and support workers for cross cultural mission. Today, we support over 300 mission partners from 39 nations, serving in 58 countries.

As UFM grows in mission partner and staff team number, so organisational complexity has increased. This vital new role involves facilitating the smooth running of the operational aspects of UFM’s central functions.

Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Risk and compliance
  • HR
  • Operational matters relating to mission personnel, e.g. DBS checks, medical referrals
  • Office functions, e.g. identifying conference venues, procurement of utilities and insurances
  • Wider operational development projects for the organisation
  • Some assistance for the exec team, particularly in support of the Director

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with outstanding initiative
  • Working knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands, exercising good judgement in prioritising work
  • Ability to work alone, or as part of a team, without direct supervision
  • Clear understanding of and empathy with Christian missions
  • Caring and compassionate approach to dealing with people

Salary & benefits:

  • Salary: £31,260pa
  • 10% employer’s pension contribution
  • 5 weeks annual leave, pro rata, plus statutory public holidays
  • 1-week additional leave to serve on an approved mission week, camp or church activity.
