The Retail team at Arthur Rank Hospice play a vital role in raising essential funds and increasing awareness for our Charity. The department consists of county wide shops and an e-commerce department, due to continued growth now have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Retail Business Manager. This role is full time, working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis which includes weekends.
As our Retail Business Manager you will work closely with the Head of Retail to develop and deliver a strategy to lead all retail activity across Cambridgeshire so that it achieves targets, maximises profit potential and supports the wider Charity aims and objectives.
This role will work across all retail operations and will include travelling between sites; the main work location will be split between our Hospice in Cambridge and Retail Hub in Pampisford.
Main duties of the role include:
- Supporting to develop, implement and drive our retail strategy
- Reviewing financial targets and KPI’s against budgets
- Supporting the creation of annual budgets and financial reporting
- Managing and developing the Charity’s New Goods income stream. Source and implement new stock ensuring shops are appropriately stocked through an effective supply system
- Working across the wider retail team to improve retail processes and support ongoing training and development
- Overseeing retail compliance to ensure optimum retail, management and health and safety standards across all shops
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience of working within multi-site retail management with experience of income and budget reporting., along with a good knowledge of health and safety within business.
As this role may involve driving our company van, candidates must have a valid C1 driving license and meet insurance requirements which include being 25 or over.
Due to the nature of this role there will be an element of manual handling and physical activity involved. Lone working may also be required from time to time. Candidates are required to be physically capable (with reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates) of meeting these job requirements.
Please note our retail operations are open 7 days per week and our colleagues work on a shift basis which will include weekends.
Interviews for this role will be held between the 4th – 7th November
Starting salary of £31,049, with opportunities to progress to £37,796.
Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro-rata’d for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, we may be able to negotiate on this.
