Job overview

We are looking for Registered General Nurses with an interest in Gynaecology, who feel that they can complement our friendly, conscientious and caring team of nurses.

Ward 34 is a 17 bedded inpatient unit caring for gynaecology patients. It is a small friendly unit, providing physical and emotional support and a high standard of nursing care. We have a fast turnover of patients and pride ourselves on receiving excellent feedback from the friends and family test.

A flexible working approach and ability to deal with the sensitive nature of women's health is required. This is an ideal post for someone already experienced in Gynaecology or someone who wants to take their first steps into women's health.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Registered Nurse you will be caring for patients with a wide variety of gynaecological conditions, who receive medical and surgical treatments. We have both routine elective admissions and a direct emergency assessment pathway. Fertility and cancer patients are also included in our client group as well as those with more common gynaecological operations and procedures. We also care for women with problems in early pregnancy and offer a termination service.

You would need to be a committed individual able to work within the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective delivery of a high quality patient experience, with a flexible approach and the ability to deal with the sensitive nature of women’s health.

Working for our organisation

Both hospital sites offer key services such as A&E, Obstetrics-led Maternity and Paediatrics. You will be joining a friendly, high performing Trust committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of staff. As one of the largest NHS Trusts in our region you will have access to a programme of high quality training and development to help you grow your career. The Trust continues to be committed to delivering the best patient care using the best clinical knowledge and technology.

We achieve this by using values based recruitment. We are dedicated to making our recruitment practices as inclusive as possible for everyone, we are committed to promoting equality and diversity, and creating a culture that values differences.

Please note that vacancies may close prior to the advertised closing date when sufficient number of applications have been received. All new staff will be subject to a probationary period covering first 6 months in post. Travel between hospital sites may be required. Please review all documents attached to ensure you familiarize yourself with all requirements of the job.
