We are seeking to appoint a general catering assistant to work within a team of 30 staff in the catering department. Working in a modern well-equipped environment this position assists the delivery of lunches to over 1400 people on a daily basis during term time and regular school functions throughout the term.

Working hours: Monday and Tuesday from 9.30am to 5.00pm over 35 weeks of the year (15 hours per week / 525 hours per year).

• Using dishwashers, cleaning, restocking of cutlery and crockery

• Assisting with function work (setting up, serving and clearing)

• Basic food preparation (sandwiches / baguettes)

• Serving pupils

• The ability to work within a team in a fast-paced, pressurised kitchen environment whilst maintaining high standards

• Good communication skills with an approachable manner - contact with pupils and staff is on a daily basis and maintaining open communication is essential

• Experience of catering is desirable, but full training can be provided

• Basic knowledge of food hygiene would be an advantage but full training can be offered
