  Kitchen Porter (Catering Assistant)to join our friendly and dedicated catering team atThe McIndoe Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced chefs and support the delivery of high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors.What you’ll do:
  • Assist chefs and catering staff with food preparation, including sandwiches, salads, and vegetables.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic kitchen environment, following “clean as you go” practices.
  • Wash and sanitise crockery, cutlery, glassware, and cookware to the highest standards.
  • Support meal service and beverage points, ensuring smooth front and back-of-house operations.
  • Manage stock rotation, put away deliveries, and complete associated records.
  • Ensure waste disposal processes are followed and bins are cleaned daily.
  • Communicate allergen information accurately and complete food safety documentation.

  • Level 2 Food Safety(training can be provided).

  • Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential.

  Location:The McIndoe Centre, East GrinsteadContract Type:Permanent, 37.50 hours per weekWork Pattern:Working 5 out of 7 days on Mon - Sun shift times are 7am - 3pmSalary:Between £23,965.50 - £24,082.50 per annumRight to work in the UKIn accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencing employment.
