Sports Coach (Hockey Specialism Preferred)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Sports Coach to join our PE department from January 2026. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering, supporting, and enhancing our sports provision across the school. While a specialism in hockey is desirable, we welcome applicants with expertise in other sports who can contribute to our broad and inclusive programme. Strong coaching skills, excellent communication, and a flexible, proactive approach are essential to thrive in our dynamic school environment.
Key Requirements:
- Proven coaching experience with primary and secondary-aged pupils.
- Ability to deliver high-quality sessions and support pupils of varying abilities.
- Commitment to extra-curricular activities and fixtures, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
About the PE Department
Our department operates across two sites and consists of a dedicated team of six staff delivering Physical Education across all Key Stages. We offer a wide range of competitive and non-competitive sports, with a strong emphasis on health, wellbeing, and inclusive participation. Hockey is a popular sport across all age groups, supported by our outreach programme in local primary schools. We have a proud history of success, including National Schools finals and individual pupils achieving national representation. Extra-curricular provision is a cornerstone of our department, with a comprehensive programme of activities and fixtures that run throughout the week and at weekends. We are committed to offering opportunities for all pupils to engage in sport at a level that suits them.

Hours
The position is 40 hours per week, spread over 6 days, Monday to Saturday during term time in accordance with the requirements of the department and at other such further times as are necessary for the proper performance of duties.
