26-11-2025We are currently recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Catering Team Leader to join our catering team within Bangor University. This is a permanent post working 30 hours per week.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 GCSE's at grade A-D (inc. English & Maths) or have equivalent work experience. Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people is essential.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Applications will also be considered to carry out this role on a part-time or job share basis.

Purpose of the Job
Leading the team to ensure best practice and achieve consistent performance whilst providing a high standard of food and beverage service on a day to day basis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the highest standards of service are achieved.
- Promote a truly customer focused working environment.
- Assist the manager in training all staff and understand the service culture within the outlets.
- Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in ensuring all business is appropriately staffed at all times, in line with planned Rota’s and forecast / budget.
- Monitor all products and ensure that they are to specification and that they are consistent.
- Assist management with operational duties, including stock takes, staff rotas.
- Have a flexible attitude, you will be required to work on shift basis including evening and weekends.

- The post holder will be expected to participate in performance review and developmental activities.

Qualifications/Training
Essential
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade A-D (incl. English & Maths) or equivalent experience.
Desirable
- NVQ level 1 in a relevant subject area.
Experience/Knowledge

- Previous experience of working in a catering environment / Hotel / Bar.
