Ben Charles Head of Foundation Job Description The King’s School, Worcester wishes to appoint an inspirational Sports Coach or PE Teacher, ideally with a Netball specialism. Applicants should be able to deliver Netball to a high standard and the ability to offer another sport, ideally Athletics, Cricket or Hockey, also to a high standard. They will have the ability to adapt to the needs of pupils while also being a great team player. The successful candidate will be a motivating individual who has the drive to help pupils of all abilities achieve at high levels, they will be someone who is passionate about sport, who has a love for learning and who wishes to share and develop that passion with enthusiastic and energetic young people. As part of our dedicated staff team, they will assist with the delivery of engaging coaching sessions, helping pupils develop fundamental skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. The role will be key in shaping positive sporting experiences that align with our school’s values. Hours of work and contract In the region of 16 hours per week, or 0.2 to 0.5 of a part-time teaching role, comprised of Games afternoons and including Saturdays. Fixed term commencing January 2026 and running until the end of the Summer term 2026, with the possibility of extending into the 2026/27 academic year for the right candidate. Netball at King’s King’s is nationally recognised as being an excellent school for Netball. The School enjoys a strong tradition of producing exceptionally talented Netball players and teams. An extensive Netball programme is run over two terms and incorporates court sessions and strength and conditioning, whilst utilising our extensive facilities. We have experienced success on the National stage and King’s regularly progresses to the Regional Finals. All teams from U12 to U19 also compete in either the School Sports Magazine knock-out competition or the Independent Schools Cup, a national competition, which allows us to compete against the top schools across the country. As a school, we aim to provide opportunities to be involved in sports for as many girls as possible. On any given Saturday in the Autumn and Spring terms, it is not uncommon to see in excess of 100 girls playing Netball for King’s.
