Non - Executive Director

Role
and
Purpose

The success of Agored Cymru relies upon the personal
commitment and active involvement of our Non - Executive
Directors. As a charitable organisation, the Non-Executive
Directors devolve authority for the governance of the
organisation, including holding the ultimate authority for the
Awarding Body and Access Validating Agency licences.

Person Specification
We seek experienced individuals ideally with governance experience but
more importantly with vision and the ability to contribute to the strategic
direction of the organisation.

You will be seen as an ambassador for Agored Cymru who can help us
maximise our growth potential in Wales, England and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to...

Attendance and effective contributions at Board meetings
Attendance and effective contributions within either the
Business, Finance & People Committee (BFPC) or the
Quality Standards & Regulation Committee (QSRC)
Scrutinise Board papers and provide appropriate feedback.
Provide challenge and support to the CEO and Senior
Management Team in the delivery of  their objectives and
the achievement of key performance indicators.
Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion though positive
action.
Provide guidance on issues in which the Trustee has
specific expertise.

The Non-Executive Directors will be expected to perform all
such additional duties as are reasonably commensurate with
the role.
The Board currently meets five times a year. While the role is
unremunerated, travel and out of pocket expenses are paid.
We also provide an induction and on-going training and
development to support directors in their role.
