The Finance team at St Catharine’s College in Cambridge is looking to appoint an experienced and ambitious Senior Financial Accountant to drive excellence, innovation and impact across our financial operations.
In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will be involved in leading the way in delivering high-quality financial information, line-manage and inspire talented finance team members, and play a key role in modernising and streamlining processes.
We’re looking for someone who not only brings strong technical expertise and significant post-qualification experience in financial accounting but also has the leadership skills and vision to drive meaningful change.

Key role responsibilities include:
- Leading the provision of timely, accurate financial information – including year-end statutory accounts and audit.
- Overseeing College payroll and student billing/sales ledger processes.
- Owning submissions to external authorities such as HMRC and the Charities Commission.
- Assisting with key financial activities such as investment and restricted fund accounting.

Working arrangements and salary
This is a permanent appointment (subject to a 6-month probation period).
Competitive salary range of FTE £50,000 - £55,000 pa, depending on skills and experience.
This role is being offered on either a full time (37.5 hours per week) or part time basis (min 80% FTE, 30 hours per week).
