We are currently recruiting for:

Teaching Housemistress/master (Sixth Form)

Deputy Housemistress/master (teaching or non-teaching) (Sixth Form)

Teaching Housemistress/master (Sixth Form)

Full-time, permanent, residential

Salary range: Based on teaching experience £28,985 - £48,254 plus annual allowance of RA16, £7,488

The HsM leads their own team of residential staff and evening tutors, providing professional leadership, direction and management for the year group whilst working within the larger team of HsMs.

Pay is all year round, with weeks outside term time usually allocated as non-working weeks. Residential accommodation and term time meals are included.

Key duties include:

  • day to day management of the boarding house and its staff
  • wellbeing and pastoral care of pupils, showing empathy with and understanding of children and young people
  • administrative duties in the boarding house
  • teaching a 0.5 timetable alongside boarding duties, any subject considered
  • liaising with parents and colleagues around the school
  • following safeguarding procedures

The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality, have good organisational skills and be ICT proficient, including MS Office and MS Teams.

Deputy Housemistress/master (Sixth Form)

Full-time, permanent, residential

Salary range: If teaching, Teachers’ pay scale dependent on experience £28,985 - £48,254 OR if non-teaching, starting at SA16 currently £28,324 per annum

The Deputy HsM acts as one third of the full-time residential House team on a rota system that covers the Boarding House, 7 days per week, 24 hours per day during term time, with the assistance of additional daytime pastoral staff. All residential house staff can expect to have dedicated time off each week.

Pay is all year round, with weeks outside term time usually allocated as non-working weeks. Residential accommodation and term time meals are included.

Key duties include:

  • wellbeing and pastoral care of pupils, showing empathy with and understanding of children and young people
  • administrative duties in the boarding house
  • teaching alongside boarding duties, or (if non-teaching) taking up alternative work in another department of the school (Sport, Co-Curricular, Administrative) alongside boarding duties
  • liaising with parents and colleagues around the school
  • following safeguarding procedures

The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality, have good organisational skills and be ICT proficient, including MS Office and MS Teams.

Details for all our teaching roles:

Teacher pay is based on the school's own pay scale, CA1 - CA8, £28,985 - £48,254 per annum, plus annual allowances for recognised additional responsibilities.

We offer membership to a generous teacher specific pension scheme.

A full-time teacher delivers 20 x 1-hour lessons per week and carries out the associated duties of an academic member of staff. Part time posts are offered on a pro-rata salary according to teaching periods, with associated duties pro-rated by the same degree.
