Accountability You will be line managed by the Mind . Main Responsibilities: Safe Haven Manager for H avant and East Hants • Support with unlocking and setting up the Adult Safe Haven at the beginning of each shift, ensuring the environment is safe, welcoming, and ready for service users • Review the handover from the previous team to familiarise yourself with any ongoing concerns or updates within the service • Maintain effective communication with colleagues, the ASH Manager, on - call managers, and wider team members using various channels such as MS Teams, email, telephone, and face -to -face interactions • Provide a warm and respectful welcome to all service users entering the Adult Safe Haven • Work collaboratively to offer 1 -to -1 support to individuals experiencing self -defined crisis, both in person and via telephone • Deliver meaningful and purposeful contact, which may include creating or following safety plans, sharing coping strategies, and offering emotional support • Ensure the safety of both staff and service users by adhering to established policies and procedures • Recognise and respond appropriately to any safeguarding concerns, liaising -call managers in line with service protocols with team members and on • P rovide service users with relevant information, resources, and signposting additional support services as needed • C omplete all required administrative tasks related to service user contacts and shift activities in a timely and accurate manner • Assist with the close the end of the shift -down and secure lock -up of the Adult Safe Haven at General Safe Haven Duties: • To support a small number of people requiring practical and emotional support in a supportive safe environment as an alternative to hospital admission • To welcome people referred to the service and address immediate presenting issues • To support service users to develop emotional management, personal and life skills to enable them to grow in independence self -confidence and attain greater • To develop links with a range of external agencies, including, accommodation providers, health services, police, housing, debt advice, drug and alcohol services • To ensure the safety of service users • To work effectively with other members of the team and to work supportively with other co -workers when on shift • To work within the organisation’s policies and procedures and assist in promoting the organisation’s aims and objectives • To adh ere to the organisation’s equal opportunities, confidentiality, health and safety and other policies • To be responsible for their own administrative tasks and provide written reports when required • To undertake any training required to carry out the duties of the pos • Any other relevant duties commensurate with the grade of the post • Attend supervision with the Adult Safe Haven Manager t Person Specification: Essential • To demonstrate compatibility with HEH Mind’s aims, objectives and values. • Experience of working in Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol, or similar setting • Experience of working one to one with people in crisis and an understanding of sensitive and complex issues • Competent in Micros oft W ord and Excel, use of email, electronic diary management, internet • Good communication skills • Patience and a calm demeanour • Team player • Ability to organise varied priorities and tasks related to workin people in crisis – verbal and written g with • Ability to work on own initiative and respond with flexibility , recognising when it is necessary to seek extra support • To ensure that the service does not marginalise or contribute to the stigma and discrimination of service users • Understanding of Equal Opportunities and Diversity Desirable • • Experience of working in related voluntary sector or statutory organisations Level 3 Safeguarding qualification or the willingness to work towards this Havant and East Hampshire Mind Havant Wellbeing Centre Dunsbury Way Havant Hampshire P09 5BG 02392498916 www.easthantsmind.org
