Trusts & Foundations

Teach First is a charity that believes education is the
most powerful tool to help a child fulfil their potential.
We find and train teachers to work in the schools that
need them most, we equip school leaders with
evidence-led training, we support local teacher
training providers, and we plug education leaders
into supportive professional networks.

The role

The rundown: You will play a key role in the Trust and
Foundation function of the Trust and Foundations and
Philanthropy team to deliver ambitious annual income
targets through winning new partnerships, excellent
stewardship and reporting. You will have a good under-
standing of trust and foundation fundraising, partnership
management, development and stewardship and have a
passion for the Teach First mission. You will play a key
role in maintaining, growing and retaining our mid value
trust and foundations partnerships to support our mission.

The detail: day-to-day work

process with all partners, working closely with fundrais-
ing operations, finance and legal to ensure donation
levels and contracts agreed are in the best interests of
the Charity.

•  Keep CRM records up to date with all stewardship
activities, notes, and documents. Ensure all work
complies with data protection and legal requirements
including the Fundraising Code of Practice.

You’ll take ownership for:

Mid-Level Stewardship and Engagement - Maintain
regular contact with a portfolio of mid-level Trusts &
Foundations funders via email, phone calls, and meet-
ings. Deliver timely, tailored stewardship communications
including thank-you letters, impact updates, and invita-
tions to events.

Proposal and Report Support - Assist in drafting and
submitting funding proposals and grant applications for
smaller trusts and foundations. Support the preparation of
donor reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with
funder expectations.

•  Manage a portfolio of mid value figure existing trust
and foundations. Proactively research, identify and
cultivate new trusts and foundations opportunities at a
mid-value level, taking them through the sales cycle to
completion.

Prospect Research and Data Management - Identify
and research potential new funders using internal and
external data sources. Maintain accurate records of donor
interactions and preferences in the CRM system,
ensuring GDPR compliance.

•  Develop strong relationships with your partners and

network effectively to embed the partnership at multiple
levels within each organisation. Develop excellent
stewardship plans and roadmaps to engage partners in
the Teach First mission, based on our segmentation
offer. Collaborate with colleagues to tailor proposals or
updates based on funder interests.

•  Manage all renewal opportunities alongside the Head
of Trusts & Foundations and Philanthropy, creating

Collaboration and Internal Liaison - Work closely with
senior fundraisers, program teams, and communications
to gather content and impact data. Ensure consistent
messaging and alignment with broader fundraising goals.

Operational Support - Maintain accurate and up-to-date
records of all interactions and activities. Support the wider
corporate fundraising team with research, proposal
preparation, and event coordination.

This position is a level 2.

About you

The Essentials: make sure you demonstrate these in

•  At least 1 years' experience working with Trusts &

Foundations.

•  Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal commu-

nication) with a focus on building rapport and trust with
Trusts and Foundations contacts and the ability to
tailor messages to different audiences.

•  Accuracy in managing donor records, tracking income,
delivering stewardship activities, multiple tasks and
deadlines across different accounts and projects.

•  Works well with colleagues across fundraising to

deliver joined-up stewardship.

•  Comfortable using CRM systems, email marketing

tools, and basic data analysis to inform engagement
strategies.

•  Able to take ownership of tasks, suggest improve-
ments, and resolve issues independently when
needed, whilst ensuring all work complies with data
protection policies and legal requirements including
the Fundraising Code of Practice.

•  Prior engagement with youth, education or children’s
charities, whether professionally or as a volunteer.

•  You should have a commitment to and knowledge of
