Description
We are looking for an experienced values-driven leader who will play a critical role in shaping the charity’s future, ensuring sustainability, growth, and the highest standards of service delivery. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering our organisational strategy while ensuring operational excellence across all areas.
Edberts House has been operating for over 15 years, supporting over 7,000 people last year across our projects. We are a vibrant, community-led charity delivering place-based initiatives across Gateshead, from grassroots projects to collaborative work with statutory partners. We are committed to reducing health inequalities and empowering local people to build healthier, happier, and friendlier communities.

We have a committed and experienced team of around 50 staff, delivering services across multiple sites in Gateshead. Our work is founded on prevention, innovation, and a deep belief in the strength and potential of local people. We run four long-standing community house projects, a social prescribing team embedded within primary and secondary care, and pilot initiatives with CNTW and Gateshead local authority in schools. We are also proud to lead Compassionate Gateshead, in partnership with NHS North East and North Cumbria.

You will be a strong and confident presenter, able to articulate our vision and values to all stakeholders, and, on occasion, will deputise for the CEO. This is primarily an internal facing role, working with the CEO, Board and Senior Leadership team to provide consistent, strategic, financial and operational leadership, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the organisation. This role requires someone with significant experience in leading operations, excellent people skills and a passion for empowering and developing staff. The ideal candidate will also have experience in proactive risk management, the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects, and a proven track record of strategic planning and implementation.

You will be joining a committed, passionate and experienced team that is making a big difference to the lives of local people.
