Complex Questions Related to Business Accountability in Ukraine Recruiting: Senior Research Officer – Ukraine
The Essex Human Rights Centre and Essex Business and Human Rights Project are recruiting a Senior Research Officer – Ukraine on a fixed-term basis for a three month period, or the equivalent on a part-time or consultancy basis (subject to agreement and as appropriate). This Senior Research Officer – Ukraine will contribute to the project: Complex Questions Related to Business Accountability in Ukraine.
The project Complex Questions Related to Business Accountability in Ukraine, is undertaking research on, and developing policy options related to, the role and responsibility of businesses in the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and their potential role in any reparations measures to be put in place for Ukraine.
The Senior Research Officer - Ukraine (SRO – Ukraine) will report directly to the supervision team – which consists of the Director of the Human Rights Centre and the Director of the Business and Human Rights Project, and will engage with internal and external collaborators who are involved in the project.
The SRO-Ukraine’s research will focus on reparations under human rights law, transitional justice and corporate accountability. They will be expected to be familiar with Ukrainian law and procedure applicable to business and human rights and reparations in the context of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as well as doctrinal and comparative international law research methods. They will research Ukrainian law and practice relevant to the subject-matter of the project, collate data and materials, carry out interviews, participate in discussions and meetings; and undertake other research tasks as requested by the Supervision Team.
