We are looking for an experienced female Support Worker to assist a fun and lively young woman who lives in her own home in St Ives.

“We are looking for an experienced support worker in learning disability who is compassionate and who really cares to go that extra mile to support our 26 year old daughter to live the best life experiences on a day to day basis. This is a 2:1 role so you will work alongside another colleague so that our daughter’s needs can be met. Our daughter’s disability means she relies on you for absolutely everything but her determination, happiness and smile shine through which is infectious. Requirements:

  • A nurturing, supportive and patient approach
  • Strong communication skills, being able to pick up on both verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Experienced in support work – we will value and offer to enhance the skills you bring!
  • Shifts can either be long or short day shifts, and will involve every other weekend
  • A full UK driving licence is essential for this role

Main responsibilities

  • To provide person-centred support to the people who use our services.
  • To follow the support plans of the people we support and any other relevant documentation
  • To support all people in line with their individual communication needs
  • Assist with daily activities, which may include medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain open communication with the people we support, their families and within the staffing team to ensure needs are met effectively.
