Approved Centre Trainer

Role Purpose

To support and train proprietors and staff within the commercial equestrian sector to improve their knowledge and understanding of disability and accessibility so they can deliver inclusive equestrian activities.

Role Type: Casual worker on a self-employed basis

Payment rate:

• £250 per centre training day (full day)

• £150 per centre training day (half day)

• Any travel over 100 miles paid at 55p/mile

The role is home based, with travel across an agreed area and occasionally to the RDA UK Office.

Description of the Approved Centre Trainer

• Visit centres and deliver the agreed Approved Centre training programme to centre staff and proprietors.

Complete onboarding checks for new centres.

• Submit visit notes and support log to RDA UK.

• Attend standard setting / train the trainer days, as required.

• Maintain current working knowledge through CPD and training that is logged with RDA UK.

Holds RDA AdvancedCoach or equivalentqualification.programmes, standards, andavailable resources.• Knowledge of Safeguardingpractices and procedures inan equestrian setting.
Time & Travel• Able to commit to occasionaltravel locally or regionally.• Flexible availability to meettraining and support needs.Must have own car and relevantbusiness insurance.• Ability to travel longerdistances and stay overnight ifrequired.
Training Experience• Experience delivering training toindividuals and groups.• Experience training moresenior or highly experiencedstaff.
Disability Knowledge• Experience supporting and/orcoaching disabled people in anequestrian setting.• Experience supportingdisabled people in othersettings (non equestrian).• Understanding of widerequality and inclusivityrequirements and goodpractice.
Organisation and ITSkills• Confident using basic IT systems(Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams,email).• Well organised, able tocomplete checklists andonboarding documentationaccurately and returnelectronically.• Ability to work autonomouslyand manage varied workload• Comfortable using a widerrange of digital tools, such astablets, smartphones, oronline learning platforms.
