Glasgow Film Festival (GFF) is looking for a Database Officer to oversee the flow of information captured in their festival database, Filmchief, and used by various teams to coordinate the festival. Filmchief is a data management tool used by GFF to record and manage all film, delegate and volunteer information.

This is a key role within our Festival Operations team. The Database Officer will work closely with the Programming, Industry, Press and Guest Services teams to ensure all information in Filmchief is captured, entered correctly in a timely manner, correct and accessible to the wider festival team. They will also play a key role in the accreditation process for all festival industry, press and filmmaker delegates, designing the application form and providing regular updates / reports to the relevant team to track the progress of applications.

Role responsibilities

The post-holder will be the main point of contact for internal queries relating to Filmchief, and for liaising with the database provider for ongoing improvements. A key part of the role will be around the setting up of the forms and fields used across teams; for example, they will create the application procedures for delegates, ensuring all the relevant details required for post-festival reporting can be successfully captured.

This post is a vital part in supporting communication and workflow across the festival team. The successful applicant will be part of the GFF Operations Team, and will work very closely with the Programme, Industry, Guest Services, Press and Glasgow Film Education Team.

Person specifications

The ideal candidate will have an organised approach with meticulous attention to detail. They will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, experience using databases and able to manage their workload effectively. Knowledge of the film festival world and, ideally, some familiarity with Glasgow Film Festival, is desirable.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in festival or cultural events and develop their skills in data management.
