Project Support Officer (Development)

VAST is a registered charity dedicated to supporting and empowering the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Stoke-on-Trent. We aim to foster strong local networks, strengthen community engagement, and build the capacity of local community groups.

The Role

Are you passionate about strengthening local communities and supporting voluntary organisations? We’re looking for a Project Support Officer to join our development team at VAST. This role is all about helping local VCSE groups grow and thrive by building strong networks, supporting development, and engaging with communities across Stoke-on-Trent.

You’ll work closely with community groups, assist with outreach and engagement, and provide vital administrative and monitoring support to ensure projects run smoothly. If you’re organised, a great communicator, and committed to making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For

Key Responsibilities

  • Support outreach to community groups and act as a key link between VAST and local communities.
  • Gather feedback to inform ongoing projects and development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate database records and provide administrative support to the team.
  • Assist with monitoring and evaluation, including collecting data for reports.
  • Provide reception cover during busy periods or staff absence.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse communities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good administrative skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a flexible approach.
  • Commitment to VAST’s mission and values, and a desire to support community growth.
