This is a great opportunity to take up a voluntary role, especially if your employer promotes paid charity days.
You could be part of a small team who really do change children’s lives.
We are a non-maintained specialist school and charity for children, with complex needs specialising in SEMH / ASD. Our school provides education for up to 70 children, ranging from 4 to 16 years old. All pupils have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan), many of our children have multiple complex needs, such as trauma and ADHD, alongside their primary need of SEMH / ASD, some with multi diagnosis. We pride ourselves on knowing and understanding our pupils by building good relationships with them from day one, alongside their families.
We are passionate to do our best for every pupil by looking closely at the needs of each pupil and ensuring they access the best curriculum for their needs. Our pupils have the opportunity to work towards a variety of qualifications including GCSE’s, Entry Level 1, 2 & 3, Functional Skills Level 1, 2 & 3, AQA Unit Awards.
We would welcome applicants for these important roles from enthusiastic and reliable individuals who have a genuine interest in the welfare, care and development of children with social, emotional or mental health considerations.
If you have a background in Education, Finance, HR, Charity, Children’s Social Care, we would be especially interested to hear from you, however, we welcome all applicants as we seek a diverse group of volunteers.
To be a Trustee and / or a Governor you do not need prior experience, but you do need to share our passion about our Charity. A full induction and ongoing training will be provided.
The Charity does require a level of commitment for the roles, with an expectation to meet up to 4 evenings per year for the full Board / Governor Meetings. There are also termly monitoring visits for Governors.
