- Minimun 2 years of clinical experience in small animal practice

- Veterinary experience with Great Apes in a Zoo or wildlife rehabilitation centre

- Basic surgical skills

- Previous experience in a developing country

- Good spoken English and willingness to learn Indonesian

- Good physical condition and readiness to spend time (2 months) in remote forest areas, at the orangutan release and monitoring camp

- Availability for a minimum of 3 months

MAIN TASKS:

- Assist with daily routines in the veterinary team at the orangutan rescue centre in Sungai Awan, about 30 minutes drive from the town of Ketapang, West-Kalimantan (1 month)

- Support and build veterinary capacity of the local monitoring team at IAR orangutan release and monitoring site in Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park (2 months)

FURTHER INFORMATION:

No salary or travel expenses will be provided

Provided in-country: visa expenses, food, accommodation, internal flights/transportation to release site

Protocols for vaccination and medical tests to be followed will be provided after interview
