Hours : 21 per week, between 9am–5pm Monday to Friday (occasional weekends and events with notice).

Salary: £13,785.39 to £15,541.28 (£22,975.66 – £25,902.14 full time equivalent) subject to skills, qualifications and experience).

Contract: Two-year fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent.

Location: The post holder will work predominately in West Norfolk to develop and expand our services in this area. Regular travel to Norwich and our cancer support centres will be required.

At Big C, we support the whole person — combining emotional support with physical wellbeing through our Health Academy. You’ll play a key role in this, using both your exercise expertise and your empathy to engage people during sessions and events.

Working with our dedicated Health Academy team, you’ll help deliver and develop activities such as Walking Football, Get Moving, and a range of wellbeing events.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Get Moving with Big C programme, supporting individuals before, during, and after treatment through exercise sessions, pre-screening, and regular check-ins.
  • Facilitate wellbeing sessions and support Health Academy events and workshops.
  • Create health resources, including exercise videos, education campaigns, and nutrition materials.
  • Maintain accurate records, produce statistics, and manage service user enquiries and bookings.
  • Ensure confidentiality and uphold corporate standards.

Qualifications

We are ideally looking for someone with a Level 4 Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation qualification. We understand this is a specialist area, so if you have the passion, capability, and commitment to learn, we’ll fully support the right person to gain this qualification.

It is essential that you already hold a Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification, as this is a prerequisite to completing the level 4 qualification. Please make sure your application clearly shows that you meet this requirement.
