Specialty Grade Doctor 2 Sessions

Willowbrook Hospice is seeking a Specialty Grade Doctor to join our medical team. This post will
commence on or after 7 November 2025. Interviews will take place in October 2025.

The post is for 2 sessions per week (Tuesday) with additional on-call weeknights and weekends with
an indicative frequency of 1:6. This may vary between 1:4-1:8 depending upon rota requirements.

This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to join a Consultant led service that was rated
Outstanding by CQC in 2020.

Willowbrook Hospice is CQC registered for 10 beds and provides Specialist Palliative Care via an
Inpatient Unit, Outpatient Service (including daily ‘hot clinic’) and Outreach Service offering a variety
of therapies and bereavement support.

We have a strong and supportive multidisciplinary team in the Inpatient Unit and work closely with
the team of doctors and Clinical Nurse Specialists in the Community. Whilst this role is primarily to
support the Inpatient Unit, there may be opportunities to see patients in the community alongside
the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team and conduct outpatient reviews.

The Hospice trains undergraduate medical students and nurses and has Specialist Registrars and
GP  Registrars  on  attachment.  The  post  holder  will  contribute  to  teaching,  training,  audit,  and
research projects.

This role would suit a doctor looking for a career in Specialist Palliative Care or a qualified GP looking
for a portfolio career.

The salary for 2 sessions is dependent on experience and aligns to Willowbrook Hospice banding.
On-call  is  paid  at  the  Hospice  standard  rate,  terms  &  conditions  are  the  same  for  all  Hospice
employees.

The successful candidate should have 4 years postgraduate experience, 2 of which should be in
palliative care or a related specialty e.g. General Practice.
