Job Profile
Main Purpose
We are looking to recruit an experienced Team Leader to work alongside our Service Manager. The post will be based in Hull and will lead the New Avenues supported housing service. The successful candidate will have experience in working with people with multi complex needs and have considerable knowledge around mental health and psychological interventions as well as learning disabilities and ASD.
Specific Tasks
- Report directly to the Service Manager.
- Complete any tasks the Service Manager allocates and deputise in periods of absence.
- Assist the Service Manager to ensure that all monitoring and data returns are completed accurately and returned on time, and that appropriate data capture systems are in place and up-to-date.
- Monitor and periodically audit the service to ensure that they meet agreed standards and lead to continuous improvement.
- Provide supervision, support and guidance to other staff and volunteers as agreed with the Service Manager.
- Take part in frequent reviews of support being provided to ensure this is to the standard expected, taking action to resolve issues as they arise.
- Coach, mentor and manage the performance of the team.
- Keep updated on the latest research and findings with any relevant health and safety developments, changes in legislation or good practice.
- Assist the Service Manager to plan, design, communicate and deliver a range of suitable activities that meet the needs and aspirations of the people we support.
- Work creatively with others through consultative and participatory activities to develop and expand out model of delivery across the organisation and reduce inequality and disadvantage.
- Investigate and respond to complaints in order to identify and implement service improvement. Aim to seek a resolution with regards to neighbor disputes.
- Build effective relationships with commissioners to ensure that their expectations are fully met.
- Build links with external organisations to maintain constructive working relations to ensure people’s needs are met.
- Ensure regular risk assessments are carried out. Plan and implement actions to control risk to ensure the health and safety of others.
- Ensure that all records (including those relating to the people we support) are accurate and up to date.
- Ensure people being supported are assisted to engage in their community and work towards move onto to suitable longer term housing options including PRS.
- Develop Quality Assurance systems as requested and required and help in the monitoring and managing of quality assurance in the delivery of all of our services.
- Implement and adhere to Target Housing policies and procedures and monitor practice to ensure effective implementation and compliance. Contribute to the development of new policies and procedures and keep existing policies and procedures so that they meet current and future needs of clients and the organisation.
- Perform other such duties as may be required to further the aims of Target Housing.
General tasks
- Facilitating continual professional development through an intensive training program.
- Lead and Participate in team meetings.
- Perform other such duties as may be required to further aims of Target Housing within the Health and Safety requirements.
- Adhere to all of Target Housing’s policies and procedures in particular our Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality and Health and Safety policies.
- Carry out other such duties as directed by senior managers as appropriate to the aims of Target Housing.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel to work
- Able to be comfortable lone working and have strong communication skills.
- Understanding of child removal and trauma.
- An individual who embraces challenges enthusiastically.
- An understand of the principles of Psychologically Informed Environments and Trauma Informed Practice
- Working in a social care or similar role for 3+ years
- Experience of writing reports
