CITB is seeking a dynamic and experienced Health & Safety Lecturer to deliver high-impact training and qualifications to our adult commercial learners.

Hours of Work: Full-time
Contract: Permanent
Grade: SC4
Target Salary: £53,303 per annum
Additional Benefits: Car Allowance £6,799
Special Requirements: The post holder will be eligible for either a company car or a car allowance in line with the grade for this role, subject to the vehicle nominated for business use complying with CITB’s Car Policy.

We are currently recruiting for two positions:
- Covering the Midlands (including Staffordshire, Luton and London)
- Covering the South of England (including London, Kent and Exeter)
About the Role
As a key member of our teaching team, you will:
- Lead curriculum teams to embed Ofsted EIF/SDS standards into everyday practice
- Support new vocational instructors and assessors through induction and probation
- Provide tailored coaching for colleagues identified through teaching observations
- Conduct Learning Walks to monitor and enhance teaching quality
- Participate in quality reviews and Desk Top Evaluations
- Deliver impactful CPD sessions to teaching teams
- Develop and deliver engaging Personal Development lessons
- Liaise with Awarding Bodies and End Point Assessment Organisations
- Plan and deliver practical and theory lessons aligned with industry standards
- Create inclusive and high-quality teaching resources
- Use diagnostic assessments to tailor individual learning support
- Provide constructive feedback to learners to drive improvement
- Track learner progress using our Learner Management System
- Support learners in developing English, maths, digital, and personal skills
- Collaborate with Apprenticeship Development Coaches during learner reviews
- Implement strategies to support learners at risk of falling behind
- Build strong relationships with industry professionals and stakeholders
- Stay current with teaching methodologies through workshops and training
- Model positive behaviours and attitudes to learners and colleagues
- The successful applicant must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism, be able to work independently and manage their own diary
Essential Experience
- Minimum Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate)
- Relevant licence to practice qualifications
- Hands-on site management experience in the construction industry
- Excellent knowledge of current industry practices
- Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve within two years)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Educated to Level 2 or above in English and maths
- Excellent organisational and digital skills (Microsoft Office 365)
Desirable Experience
- Higher-level construction-related qualification
- Higher-level education-related qualification
- Level 3 environmental or sustainability qualification
