As our Kitchen Porter you will work as part of the Food & Beverage team, responsible for both kitchen cleanliness and the receiving and storage of deliveries.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all food safety, allergen, and health and safety processes, policies and procedures, completing all training and paperwork as required.
This role is part of the Food & Beverage team and is line managed by the Food & Beverage Supervisor team.
Key Responsibilities- Ensuring that all kitchen and back of house areas are cleaned and maintained in line with food safety and health & safety policies
- Assisting with the receipt and storage of deliveries, and collation of all required delivery paperwork e.g. invoices
- Washing, drying and storing correctly all equipment used in the kitchen and food service areas
- Supporting the Front of House team in clearing food service areas, including the café, restaurant and function room spaces
- Ensuring accurate completion of food safety paperwork as required, including delivery checklists and temperature checklists
- Promptly reporting any equipment maintenance or health & safety issues to the F&B Supervisor team
- Completing opening, closing and shift cleaning duties and checklists as required
- Supporting the kitchen team in stock management and stock rotation
- Removing kitchen waste in line with the museum’s waste strategy
- Supporting the kitchen team in basic food preparation e.g. cutting ingredients, peeling & washing food items
- Supporting in stocktaking and stock line checks as required
- Supporting the kitchen team in stock order creation
