About the Role:
As a Teacher of Mathematics at Bloxham School, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons having the skill and drive to ensure our students receive the best possible learning opportunities, catering to students from 11 to 18 years old. We have a growing number of students entering the national UKMT competitions, with many of these progressing onto the additional rounds.
The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning and will be able to model best practice to all colleagues in the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare engaging lessons to challenge and enthuse your classes, making use of prior attainment, SEND and other school data to support appropriate planning
- Inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for Mathematics through creative teaching
- Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement interventions where necessary
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, trips, and broader curricular programmes
- Engage in professional development and share best practice with colleagues
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and innovative educator who can inspire students across the sciences. The successful candidate will:
- Hold a degree in Mathematics, or a related subject
- Have proven experience of teaching Mathematics from age 11 to 18
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and awareness of current teaching practices
- Be an excellent communicator with the ability to motivate students of all abilities
- Be committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice

Working Arrangements:

- Bloxham School is a thriving school with a warm and friendly staff community.
- Our school day starts at 8.30 am and finishes at 6pm Monday to Friday.
- Academic lessons end at 3.30pm after which our staff contribute to broader curricular activities, academic drop-ins and pastoral meetings.
- Saturday lessons are from 8.30am -12.00.
- The pastoral service we offer at Bloxham School matters hugely to us and therefore all teachers are tutors. If you are a senior tutor, you will be expected to carry out one evening duty per week in their boarding house from 6.45-10.00pm and if a junior tutor, once a fortnight from 6pm-9pm.
