Tasks and Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Write clear, accurate and highly engaging content about the Anne Frank Trust for a wide range of documents and online platforms.
- Assist in drafting and distributing the monthly e-bulletin, ensuring it effectively communicates key updates, achievements, and relevant sector updates.
- Write and distribute press releases about the Trust’s events or projects, following up with journalists as needed.
- Plan compelling communications activity around relevant national events such as
- Anti-Bullying Week, Hate Crime Awareness Week and Holocaust Memorial Day.
- Source and make effective use of images, audio, video, personal testimonies and other relevant content to communicate the Trust’s messages.
- Help plan and run the communications aspects of the Trust’s events, for example liaising with a photographer or live-posting on social media.
- Commission and work closely with graphic designers, web developers and printers as appropriate, always within clear specifications, budgets and timelines.
- Digital platforms
- Be responsible for the content of the Trust’s website, reviewing and updating it to act as the inspiring and informative shop window for the charity’s work.
- Operate and grow the Trust’s social media presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and exploring new platforms such as TikTok), ensuring content is dynamic, engaging and influential, and that it strengthens connections with supporters and allies.
- Collaborate with the Education Team to promote online learning events through social media and email to key stakeholders.
- Brand and strategy alignment
- Ensure all content is consistent with the Trust’s strategy, branding, agreed styles, values, and policies.
- Tailor all communications appropriately for different audiences, from school pupils to donors and the general public.
- Encourage staff across the Trust to be consistent and effective in external
- communications, for example through a style guide.
General Responsibilities:
- Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and targets.
- Ensure all work reflects the Trust’s values, quality standards, and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Apply excellent safeguarding practices in all communications and external engagements.
- Contribute positively to team meetings, training, and professional development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a productive and supportive environment.
- Carry out other duties as required to support the Trust’s functions and activities.
EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Educated to an undergraduate level or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working successfully as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Experience creating content for social media, either personally or professionally.
Desirable
- Experience working in an office-based and/or remote team.
- Experience supporting events or communications projects.
- Experience working in a charity, educational, or community setting.
KNOWLEDGE
Essential:
- Confident user of Microsoft 365 and Canva.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Awareness of the importance of the Trust’s Jewish roots, and sensitivity to communicating Jewish identity in a modern and inclusive context.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the importance of anti-prejudice education andcommunications.
Desirable:
- Understanding of other platforms such as TikTok and experience with databases/CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Monday).
- Familiarity with website management, including updating content and monitoring performance.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to tell stories in a clear and engaging way.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and engage sensitively with external stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills, including managing deadlines, prioritising tasks, and responding to requests in a timely manner.
