Hours: Days/hours to suit

Join Our Team as Retail Assistant

Hospice shops play a key role in our work. By volunteering, your contribution has an impact far into the future. The Hospice Shop is a shared shop between Dorothy House and ourselves.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock sorting: assisting in the sorting, preparation and presentation of goods donated for sale
• Researching: looking up items on the internet to identify them and set a suitable price
• Steaming: using the steaming process to help prepare donated clothes and fabric items for sale on the shop floor
• Customer service: being friendly and helpful to customers in order to increase sales
• Till-operating: serving and assisting customers, taking payment for goods and entering transaction into cash register
• Housekeeping on the shop floor and in the stock room

Person Specification

• An interest in the shop, and an enthusiasm for raising money through its work
• The ability to work as part of a team and get on with other volunteers in the shop
• Be able to provide a friendly, high-quality service to customers
• A willingness to help with a range of tasks in the shop, and to undertake tasks as requested
• Reliability and Punctuality
