Hyndburn Leisure is seeking to appoint ASA Level 2 Swimming instructors to assist in the delivery of Hyndburn Leisure Swim programme.

Hyndburn Leisure’s aquatic mission is to provide safe and consistent Swimming lessons for all ages and abilities; taught by highly trained, inspirational and enthusiastic teachers.

The ideal candidates will be remarkable, motivated and will have the ability to enthuse others to develop swimming.

Key Aspect of the role will include:

  • To deliver high quality swimming lessons in line with the outcomes and criteria set out by our governing body.
  • To contribute and assist with the planning and preparation of classes.
  • Awareness of pupil’s status, nature and needs.
  • Administration skills necessary to fulfil the National Plan for Teaching Swimming

The Successful candidate must have:

  • Minimum Level 2 ASA certificate for teaching swimming
  • Knowledge of ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming skills, techniques and awards.
  • Flexible working hours at Hyndburn Leisure Sites
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Mature but approachable personality

Their vision is to make a real difference in the communities we serve. There is an exciting new opportunity for a Sports Apprentice to join the Hyndburn Leisure team at their centres in Hyndburn.
We are looking for self-motivated people who aspire to develop themselves and are committed to learning. You will need good communication skills and be able to satisfy basic literacy and numeracy requirements. Working as a team and supporting others is essential.

Duties/main responsibilities include:

Based at Hyndburn Leisure Centre and Accrington Academy you will gain a broad range of experience-based knowledge of services provided within Hyndburn Leisure. As this role incorporates lifeguarding; a minimum swimming ability is required and you will be required to undertake a swimming test in addition to satisfying college assessments.

Working week

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Fitness Instructors to join our team across Hyndburn Leisure Centre, Accrington Academy, and Wilson Sports Village. You will play an important role in delivering a high-quality fitness experience for our members, supporting them to achieve their goals, and ensuring our gyms remain welcoming, safe, and professional environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering safe and effective one-to-one fitness programmesand inductions
  • Leading and supporting gym-based classes
  • Providing excellent customer service and member support

Job purpose:

  • To build positive and effective relationships with customers, partners and colleagues
  • To assist in the delivery of high-quality events
  • To assist in setting up equipment for events and activities
  • To assist effective stock management processes
  • To prepare, take orders and serve food & beverages
  • To clean bar and public areas before, during and after events
  • To assist in maintaining the correct standard of hygiene
  • To observe the correct implementation of licensing laws
  • To ensure both opening and closing checklists are completed
  • To ensure till and cash handling is in accordance with financial procedures shown in training
