Maintenance Assistant
Permanent Contract
Location: Crimple House, Harrogate
Hours: 21 hours per week
Salary: £14,136.22 per annum (£23,560.36 per annum FTE)

About the role
We are looking for a practical, reliable, and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team and support the essential infrastructure of our charity. This is a hands-on role, helping ensure our hospice environments remain safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for everyone who uses our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake general repairs, maintenance, and equipment checks across internal and external areas.
- Carry out the planned programme of maintenance to ensure all hospice sites meet safety and quality standards.
- Support with ad-hoc practical tasks and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and any issues identified.
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of general building maintenance.
- Experience providing practical maintenance support or previous work in a relevant trade (e.g. joinery, plumbing, electrics).
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
- Problem-solving ability with a practical, solution-driven mindset.
- MIDAS training desirable, or willingness to undertake.
Requirements
- Must hold a full, clean driving licence.
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites as needed.
