Queens’ College is looking for a Catering and Conference Manager to lead and manage our catering and conference facilities. This includes organising all resources effectively; maintain, and work within, an annual set budget; ensure targets and departmental objectives are achieved, and a high quality service is delivered. The role requires someone who is commercially minded yet sensitive to the academic aims and values of the College.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven senior management and leadership experience, with the ability to motivate, develop and empower teams.
  • Strong business acumen and a track record of managing significant budgets and resources.
  • The ability to develop and deliver a clear strategic vision, securing staff commitment and engagement.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills, able to connect at all levels and handle complex situations with confidence.
  • A commitment to inclusivity and cultural awareness, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
  • Resilience, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

This is a 37.5 hours per week role, with a requirement for these hours to be worked flexibly across seven days, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Additional hours may be necessary from time to time, for which time off in lieu will be provided.

Remuneration and Benefits:

  • Highly competitive salary
  • Hours of work: 37.5 per week with a requirement for these hours to be worked flexibly across seven days, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Additional hours may be necessary from time to time, for which time off in lieu will be provided.
  • Final Salary Pension Scheme after qualifying period
  • 29 days’ holiday, in addition to public holidays (37 in total)
