Regional Support Manager (Retail)
Full-time • County-wide role • Regular weekend working required
Cornwall Hospice Care is seeking an experienced, commercially focused and dynamic Regional Support Manager to join our senior retail management team. This pivotal role supports the delivery of an efficient, high-performing and profitable retail operation across the county, helping us continue our vital work caring for people in Cornwall.
About the Role
As Regional Support Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our shops operate smoothly, commercially and successfully. Responsibilities include:
- Workforce Planning & Rotas
Managing workforce planning for all retail locations, including rotas, annual leave and absence cover, often at short notice, ensuring each shop can trade to agreed patterns while maximising sales opportunities and customer service levels.
- Leadership of Mobile Deputies
Providing direct line management, leadership and coaching to our mobile deputy retail management team, ensuring they are equipped to drive sales, deliver profit targets and uphold retail standards wherever they are deployed.
- Performance Management
Leading on performance conversations, setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback and supporting development plans. Managing underperformance proactively in line with organisational policies to ensure high standards and positive results across all stores.
- Supporting Recruitment & Retention
Assisting the Regional Manager in attracting, recruiting and retaining high-performing retail team members across the county, ensuring we build capable and motivated teams.
- Deputising for the Regional Manager
Providing leadership, operational support and decision-making across all Cornwall Hospice Care stores when required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced multi-site retail leader with a strong commercial mindset
- Confident in managing performance, giving feedback and driving accountability
- Able to analyse retail performance data and translate insights into action
- Highly organised, adaptable and skilled in managing complex staffing needs
- Skilled in coaching, mentoring and developing individuals and teams
- A strong communicator with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and supporting a charity’s mission
Additional Requirements
- Extensive travel across Cornwall is essential — access to a vehicle at all times is required
- Regular weekend working will be part of the role
- A flexible, proactive approach to a highly mobile and varied workload
