St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare. We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to lead a new male medium secure ward for working-age men, as part of our secure care pathway.
- Responsible Clinician for the ward, leading assessment and treatment in a secure setting
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight of care plans
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement
- Opportunity to develop specialist interests and pursue leadership roles regionally and nationally
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- MRCPsych or equivalent
- CCT in Forensic Psychiatry, General Adult Psychiatry, or Old Age Psychiatry (or within 6 months of completion)
- Strong leadership and communication skills

You will be supported by a full multidisciplinary team including psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, nurses and speech and language therapists, as well as junior doctors and administrative support. The Northampton site provides a wide range of services including low secure, PICU, CAMHS, learning disability, autism, neuropsychiatry and forensic pathways, along with academic and research facilities.
