Department:

Why we need you
We need volunteers to help us run our Fundraising events across the year. This is a vital role and Event volunteers also act as ambassadors for Penny Brohn UK by contributing to a warm and inviting atmosphere for all those who attend as well as ensuring the events are a success.
Volunteers will help to set up and support the delivery of events including our annual Open Garden Day, Easter Egg Hunt, Moonwalk, Christmas concert and Bristol Great Run. It is a very flexible role and volunteers will have the opportunity to take on a number of tasks including the welcoming and registering of participants, running a snack station, marshalling the route, cheer point and handing out medals. They will be asked to help with set up and cleanup tasks before and after the events as well as assisting with the preparation and serving of food and drinks to guests.
What skills and abilities do you need?
We are looking for volunteers who are friendly, approachable and enjoy being part of a team. Volunteers will be confident and willing to engage with guests, reliable and punctual.
Time commitment
These roles are flexible and can fit around other commitments. Volunteers can choose the events they would like to help with throughout the year.
Volunteers will receive a full induction to Penny Brohn UK and will be assigned a member of staff as their designated contact to assist and address any questions they may have. A full written brief will be provided prior to each event with all the information needed plus a full briefing from staff on the day. This is a great opportunity to build communication and interpersonal skills as well as the opportunity to work within the charity sector. Our events are also great fun!
