Representative Sport Officer

The fixed-term job share role of Representative Sport Officer will join our team with the purpose of overseeing and administrating our team competitive programme as well as our fixtures with spectators. This role will also deliver lifestyle support to selected dual-career athletes. This is a 0.4FTE job share alongside our Sport Development Officer – Performance, however we have divided responsibilities so that this role is able to take lead for it’s own work areas including a separate job title.

About Representative Sport Officer

The role will work as part of the DMUsport team to help support and deliver the competition and training aspect of our DMUsport player pathway, working closely with the Sport Performance and Business Operations Manager, Sport Development Officer – Performance, and Competition Coordinator to ensure efficient and effective competition processes and delivery are in place across the academic year. Completing administration of DMU financial processes for scholarship, talented athlete, performance team, and our physiotherapy support programmes. And coordinating planning for and delivery of our varsity series.

This position is fixed term for 12 months and at 0.4FTE. The salary shown will need to be pro-rated down to reflect the part time hours.

To be successful, you should be passionate about supporting student-athletes and sporting development within a student sport environment, with welcomed outside of the box thinking to engage our student-athletes across the competitive opportunities. You should have the ability to follow processes, be diligent with detail, future planning, and hold good time management skills as the role requires you to adapt to demands whilst planning showcase sport events.

You will need to be organised, as the role requires detailed planning, clear communication skills and the ability to engage with students, committees, coaches and a range of stakeholders. As well as working closely with colleagues across the department.
