About Us

VAST is a registered charity dedicated to supporting and empowering the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Stoke-on-Trent. We aim to foster strong local networks, strengthen community engagement, and build the capacity of local community groups.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Project Officer working as part of a small team to deliver the inVOLved project across Hanley and Stoke. This role focuses on planning and facilitating interest-led, micro-engagement activities that help individuals facing multiple disadvantage; such as homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use to build confidence, develop skills, and connect with their community.

You will work closely with the project team, and local partners to ensure sessions are inclusive and responsive to participant needs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a tangible difference in people’s lives through creative engagement and community collaboration.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience delivering group activities or workshops in community settings.
  • Ability to engage and motivate individuals facing complex challenges.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
  • Organisational skills for managing venues, resources, and health & safety.
  • Good IT skills and confidence in maintaining administrative systems.
  • Ability to travel locally and transport materials (access to a vehicle is highly desirable).
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends.
