Research is a key element in Dementia UK’s strategic aims and runs throughout all our approaches to supporting people with dementia and their families. Our research is focused on care, not cure, helping to improve lives and support our Admiral Nurses.
This Research Fellow role will play a vital part in delivering Dementia UK’s Research Strategy, launched in September 2023. Working within the Research and Publications team, the postholder will contribute to the development and delivery of research projects that reflect the priorities of people living with dementia, their families, and Admiral Nurses. You will work collaboratively with our patient and public involvement group to develop research questions, undertake literature reviews, and lead data collection and analysis.
You will also support the advertising and recruitment of participants to research studies, including drafting accessible and engaging materials and liaising with internal teams to promote participation. You will also be responsible for disseminating findings to academic, professional, and lay audiences, and will represent Dementia UK in external research networks, supporting and advising researchers in the field of dementia care.
The successful candidate will have a first degree or higher in a course relevant subject (e.g., psychology, nursing, social care), with a PHD or equivalent accepted based on cognate area of understanding. You will have demonstrable research experience within dementia, health or social care with the ability to explain complex qualitative and quantitative information in a simple and understandable format for a range of audiences.
