Job purpose

As the Campus Team Manager, you will be responsible for bringing to life an exciting new project at CST that will draw together support for Jewish students from within CST and other communal organisations. In this role you will be responsible for managing the introduction of a new Student Helpline for students to report incidents of antisemitism and extremism on campus. You will manage CST’s team that provides support to Jewish students across the UK,

enabling them to provide security for Jewish students on campus, work with victims of antisemitism, research manifestations of campus-related antisemitism and extremism and ensure that they have a clear understanding of antisemitism and anti-Israel hatred in the campus space.

The successful candidate will be responsible for making and maintaining strong connections between CST and other communal organisations to ensure that students are receiving the most effective help possible. You will organise for your team members to travel widely to campuses around the country and on occasion will accompany them to campuses to provide awareness on antisemitism and to meet with students. You will work collaboratively with other CST departments and with campus-facing communal organisations including the Union of Jewish Students, Chaplaincy, Stop the Hate, Stand With Us, I-gnite and other relevant organisations and individuals to help you support Jewish students.

Your key responsibilities for this role are as follows:

• To manage CST’s existing campus team, ensuring its work is in line with CST’s strategic goals

• To create and implement the student helpline to ensure blanket use across the Jewish student community for reporting incidents.

• To create and manage a system of triage that ensures that the victims of antisemitism are connected with the organisations most suited to helping them

• To forge relationships with organisations catering to Jewish students across the community.

• To work with the Student Security Coordinators and the Student Outreach Officer to set objectives, both annual and monthly and working together with them to achieve those goals.

• To travel to university campuses and schools around the UK to engage with Jewish students, Students’ Union officers, university staff and other relevant stakeholders on the subject of antisemitism.

• To ensure that CST staff and communal partners are kept updated on pertinent information relating to activities on campus

Personal Profile

You must be a team player, and have:

• Previous management experience

• Excellent understanding of the Jewish community

• Proven ability to conceive of and manage project from implementation through to conclusion

• Strong communication skills, including through public speaking and report writing

• Demonstrable abilities to research primary source data

• Possess the ability to work under pressure

• Exceptional understanding of antisemitism and anti-Zionism

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build strong relationships

• Ability to work flexible hours, to be proactive, resourceful and prepared to travel around the UK consistently
